The popular concert series presenting new, original music performed by local jazz artists returns with four Spring concerts at Madison Public Library. The first concert of the series features the powerful sounds of tenor saxophonist Jon Hoel and his trio. Jon Hoel, a graduate of UW-Stevens Point, is an extremely active member of the Madison music community and performs regularly with Nuggernaut and Better Yeti. His trio is rounded out by bassist Ben Ferris and drummer Kelby Kryshak.
The inDIGenous Jazz Series is presented by The Madison Music Collective and The Greater Madison Jazz Consortium. The concerts are held on the 3rd floor of Madison's Central Library. Each concert is free, all-ages, and open to the public.
The inDIGenous Jazz Concert Series is made possible with the support of The Madison Public Library, The John and Carolyn Peterson Charitable Foundation, Wisconsin Arts Board, Janus Galleries, and Dane Arts with promotional support from WORT, Isthmus, and Wisconsin Public Radio.
